The most complete point guard of his generation — eight-time All-Star, NBA champion and one of the greatest passers in history.

Jason Frederick Kidd was born in San Francisco, California in 1973. Dallas Mavericks selected him second overall in the 1994 NBA Draft. He co-won the Rookie of the Year award with Grant Hill in 1995. His 19-season career produced 10 All-Star appearances, the NBA championship in 2011 and career averages of 12.6 points, 8.7 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game. He led the league in assists five times. He led the New Jersey Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances (2002, 2003) — transforming a moribund franchise into a championship contender within one season of his arrival. He won Olympic gold with the USA in 2000 and 2008. His rebounds-per-game average of 6.3 as a point guard — a position not traditionally expected to rebound — reflects his extraordinary basketball intelligence and physical effort. He made the All-NBA Defensive First Team five times. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018 and named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. After retirement he became head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks and then the Dallas Mavericks — the team he won his championship with as a player.
