The most ferocious middle linebacker in Pittsburgh Steelers history — Jack Lambert anchored the Steel Curtain defence that won four Super Bowls in the 1970s. Known as Dracula for his gap-toothed appearance after losing his front teeth in a game, his intensity and football IQ set the standard for the position. Eight-time All-Pro and the definitive 1970s defensive player, he changed how the linebacker position was played in the modern NFL.
Jack Lambert was born in Mantua, Ohio in 1952. The Steelers selected him 46th overall in 1974. He was the defensive heart of Pittsburgh's four Super Bowl dynasty — his intensity, leadership and physical ferocity made him the most intimidating defensive player of the era. He was nicknamed Dracula for his gap-toothed appearance. He recorded 28 career interceptions. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.
