China's greatest male gymnast — World all-around champion and Olympic gold medallist.
Yang Wei was born in Qianjiang, Hubei, China in 1980. He won the Olympic all-around gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Games — on home soil, to enormous public celebration. He won three World Championship titles. He is considered the greatest Chinese male gymnast in Olympic history. His consistency across all six apparatus and his exceptional routines on rings and high bar distinguished him. He became head coach of China's national gymnastics team after retirement.
