Grant Holloway was born in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1997. He is the world record holder in the 60m hurdles indoors. He won the World Championship in the 110m hurdles in 2022 and 2023. He won the Olympic silver medal at Tokyo 2020 — losing narrowly to Hansle Parchment of Jamaica. His combination of height (6ft 1in), technique over the hurdles and exceptional top-end speed between hurdles makes him the finest technical hurdler of his generation. He won a collegiate football scholarship before choosing athletics as his primary sport.
