Florent Johan Malouda was born in Cayenne, French Guiana on 13 June 1980. He starred at Lyon, winning seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles, before joining Chelsea in 2007 for £13.5 million. A quick, direct and technically gifted wide player, he enjoyed his best season in 2009-10 when Chelsea won the Premier League and FA Cup Double, scoring 12 league goals. He made 229 appearances for Chelsea, also winning the Champions League in 2012. He earned 80 caps for France and was part of the 2006 World Cup squad that reached the final.
