Elena Rybakina was born on 18 June 1999 in Moscow, Russia, but chose to represent Kazakhstan. She turned professional in 2016 and broke through with a stunning 2022 Wimbledon title, defeating Ons Jabeur in the final to become Kazakhstan's first Grand Slam champion. Her enormous serve and flat, powerful groundstrokes make her one of the most dangerous players on tour. She has reached multiple Grand Slam finals and semi-finals since her Wimbledon win and reached a career-high ranking of No. 2.
