Miami's greatest basketball player — three-time NBA champion and the most athletic shooting guard of his generation.

Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1982 and played college basketball at Marquette University. Miami Heat selected him fifth overall in the 2003 NBA Draft — the same draft that produced LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh. His 16-season career produced three NBA championships (2006, 2012, 2013) and Finals MVP in 2006. He led the Heat past the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 Finals with one of the great individual Finals performances — averaging 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals per game across six games. He won the scoring title in 2009. He was selected to 13 All-Star games. His partnership with LeBron James and Chris Bosh in the Miami Heat's Big Three era (2010-2014) produced four consecutive Finals appearances and two championships. His athleticism — explosive first step, ability to finish at the rim through contact, defensive instincts — made him the most complete two-guard of his era. He won Olympic gold with the USA in 2008. He spent virtually his entire career with the Heat and his number 3 was retired by the franchise. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
