Dwight Eversley Yorke was born in Canaan, Tobago on 3 November 1971. Spotted by Graham Taylor on a tour of the Caribbean, he joined Aston Villa in 1989 and became a fan favourite, scoring 73 goals in 231 Premier League appearances. In 1998 he joined Manchester United for £12.6 million and immediately struck up a devastating partnership with Andy Cole. In his first season at Old Trafford, Yorke was the Champions League's top scorer as United won the unprecedented Treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. He later played for Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Sydney FC and Sunderland. Internationally, Yorke captained Trinidad and Tobago to their first ever World Cup finals in 2006, earning 72 caps and scoring 19 goals.
