Dustin Poirier was born in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1989 and grew up in poverty. He is known as The Diamond. He defeated Conor McGregor twice — including by TKO in Round 2 in January 2021, generating one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. He co-founded the Good Fight Foundation — a charity providing direct aid to communities in his home state of Louisiana.
