Daniel William Carter was born in Southbridge, New Zealand in 1982. He holds the world record for most points scored in international rugby with 1,598 points across 112 Tests. He was named World Player of the Year in 2005, 2012 and 2015 — equalling the record of three wins. His performance in the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final — man of the match in a 34-17 victory over Australia — is considered the finest individual display in a World Cup final by a backs player. He played club rugby for Racing 92 in France and the Crusaders in Super Rugby. He is universally acknowledged as the finest fly-half in rugby history.
