Conor Anthony McGregor was born in Crumlin, Dublin in 1988. He trained under John Kavanagh at Straight Blast Gym Ireland while working as a plumber. He joined the UFC in 2013 and became featherweight champion in December 2015, stopping José Aldo in 13 seconds — the fastest finish in UFC title fight history. He became the first fighter to hold two UFC belts simultaneously, winning the lightweight title in November 2016. He fought Floyd Mayweather in boxing in August 2017. He was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 and suffered a compound leg fracture against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
