Two majors before 25 — the most technically precise iron player of the new generation.
Collin Morikawa was born in Los Angeles, California in 1997. The University of California, Berkeley developed him. He won the PGA Championship in 2020 in his first appearance — becoming the first player to win the PGA Championship on debut in the modern era. He won The Open Championship in 2021. He reached world number one in 2021. His iron play — consistently the most accurate on the PGA Tour by strokes gained — is the foundation of his game. He is one of the few modern elite players to forgo distance maximisation in favour of precision. He has been vocal about the importance of course management over power in major championship golf.
