Dream Team member and Golden State's beloved star — one of the purest shooters the NBA has ever produced.
Christopher Paul Mullin was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1963 and attended St. John's University. Golden State Warriors selected him seventh overall in the 1985 NBA Draft. His 16-season career produced 18.2 points per game and five All-Star appearances. He was selected to the All-NBA First Team twice. He was a member of the original Dream Team at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics — winning gold as one of the 12 greatest players in the world at the time. His shooting — textbook mechanics, an almost perfect release point and elite shooting percentages — was studied by coaches as the standard for perimeter shooting technique. He shot 51.0% from the field and 86.5% from the free throw line across his career. He won the Most Improved Player award in 1992. He formed the Run TMC backcourt at Golden State alongside Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond — one of the most entertaining small lineups in 1990s basketball. He overcame alcohol dependency in the late 1980s, entering rehabilitation in 1988 and returning to be one of the most consistent scorers in the league. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011 and named to the NBA 50th Anniversary Team in 1996.
