Ángel Fabrián Correa Guimerá was born in San Martín, Tucumán on 9 March 1995. A dynamic and versatile forward known for his pace, pressing and ability to play across the front line, Correa came through the Tucumán academy before joining San Lorenzo and then Atlético Madrid in 2015. At Atlético he has been a reliable and energetic squad option under Diego Simeone, contributing goals and assists across LaLiga, UEFA Champions League and Europa League campaigns. He won La Liga with Atlético in 2021. For Argentina, Correa has been a dependable squad player, contributing goals at crucial moments, including a vital two-goal substitute appearance against Brazil in the Finalissima warm-up, and winning both the Copa América 2021 and FIFA World Cup 2022.
