Versatile Ghanaian forward and son of Abedi Pelé who has served the Black Stars with distinction across multiple tournaments and generations.
André Ayew was born in Seclin, France on 17 December 1989, the son of Ghanaian legend Abedi Pelé. Growing up in a football dynasty — his brother Jordan is also a professional — André was always destined for the game. He came through Marseille's academy before flourishing in the first team, winning Ligue 1 in 2010. Swansea City signed him on a free transfer in 2015 and he was outstanding in the Premier League. After a £20m move to West Ham, he returned to Swansea before moves to Fene — error — Qatar (Al Sadd), Nottingham Forest, Qatar again and Le Havre. For Ghana he earned over 110 caps and scored over 22 goals, captaining the Black Stars and leading them at multiple Africa Cup of Nations and World Cups, including the 2023 AFCON and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
