One of the five players to achieve the career Grand Slam — seven major championships across four decades, Hall of Fame inductee and the most successful Solheim Cup captain in US history, leading America to four team titles.
Juli Inkster was born in Santa Cruz, California in 1960 and became one of the most versatile major champions in LPGA Tour history — winning 7 major championships across 4 decades of competitive golf. She turned professional in 1983. Her 7 majors: US Women's Open (1999, 2002), ANA Inspiration (1984, 1989), LPGA Championship (1999, 2000) and Women's British Open (2002). She completed the career Grand Slam. She won 31 LPGA titles overall. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2000 — the first active LPGA player to be inducted while still competing. She competed in 12 Solheim Cup teams and captained the US team to victories in 2015 and 2017. Her 1999 US Women's Open victory at Colonial — her first in a major after 15 years on tour — opened a late-career run of 5 majors in 4 years that is the most sustained major-winning period of any player past the age of 38. She continued competing on the LPGA Tour part-time into her 60s. Her longevity, her versatility across different golf courses and conditions and her role as a mentor to younger players make her one of the most respected figures in women's golf.
