Wayne Mark Rooney was born in Croxteth, Liverpool in 1985 and made his Everton debut at 16, becoming the youngest scorer in Premier League history. He joined Manchester United for £25.6m in 2004 and spent 13 years at the club, scoring 253 goals in 559 appearances to become their all-time leading scorer. He won five Premier League titles, the Champions League in 2008 and the FA Cup. For England he earned 120 caps and scored 53 goals, both national records. His overhead kick against Manchester City in 2011 is one of the greatest goals in derby history.
