The Wizard of Wishaw — four World Championships and 31 ranking titles.
John Higgins was born in Wishaw, Scotland in 1975. He won four World Championships across twenty years — the longest span between first and last World Championship victories in the modern era. He won 31 ranking events. He was suspended following a Sunday newspaper sting operation in 2010 that allegedly showed him discussing match-fixing — he was cleared of match-fixing but fined and banned for six months for failing to report a bribe approach. He returned to win the World Championship twice more after the ban. He is one of the three players — alongside O'Sullivan and Hendry — considered the greatest of all time.
