Three Stanley Cups with three different franchises — one of hockey's most decorated role versatile centres.
Joe Nieuwendyk born in Oshawa, Ontario in 1966. He won three Stanley Cup championships with three different franchises — Calgary in 1989, Dallas in 1999 and New Jersey in 2004 — one of only nine players to achieve this. He won the Calder Trophy as best rookie in 1988 after scoring 51 goals. He won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1999. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011. He scored 50 goals or more in three different seasons. He became general manager of multiple NHL franchises after his career — Calgary and Dallas — building teams that competed at championship levels. His three-franchise championship record reflects a player who brought elite-level skill and professionalism to every locker room he entered.
