Trevor John Zegras was born on 20 March 2001 in Bedford, New York, to parents of Greek descent, Gary and Julie, and began skating at just three years old, growing up idolising Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane despite being a lifelong New York Rangers fan himself as a child. Zegras played college hockey at Boston University before the Anaheim Ducks selected him ninth overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, and he quickly developed a reputation as one of the league's most creative and highlight-reel playmakers on the ice.
