Dylan Larkin

Dylan Larkin is an American ice hockey centre who has spent his entire NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings, serving as team captain since 2021.

Dylan Larkin was born on 30 July 1996 in Waterford, Michigan, and the Detroit Red Wings selected him 15th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft, before he made his professional debut for the team's AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, during the 2015 Calder Cup playoffs against the Utica Comets. Larkin scored his first professional goal against future NHL goaltender Jacob Markström in just his second AHL game, before making the Red Wings' final roster later that year and quickly establishing himself as one of the fastest skaters in the entire league. Larkin developed into the face of the Red Wings franchise during a challenging rebuilding period, being named team captain and becoming one of Detroit's most important offensive and vocal leadership figures on and off the ice. Larkin has continued to represent the United States internationally, and remains the Red Wings' captain and most important player, having spent his entire NHL career to date with the storied Original Six franchise that drafted him.

Larkin is known for his exceptional speed and skating ability, making him one of the fastest players in the NHL. He possesses strong puck-handling skills and vision, allowing him to create scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. As a two-way center, he contributes defensively while being the Red Wings' primary offensive catalyst.

Larkin represents the new generation of American-born NHL stars and has become the face of the Detroit Red Wings' rebuilding efforts.
