Nadine Bryan

Jamaican midcourter who became one of the Sunshine Girls' most-capped players and captained Jamaica during the 2010s.

Nadine Tamara Bryan was born on 18 December 1976, and studied at the University of the West Indies while developing into one of Jamaica's most experienced and decorated netball internationals, representing the Sunshine Girls from 1996 to 2014 — an 18-year international career. Bryan played predominantly at centre and wing attack, and was a member of the Jamaica teams that won bronze medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2003 and 2007 World Netball Championships, along with a silver medal at the inaugural 2009 World Netball Series. She captained the national team between 2009 and 2013, leading Jamaica at the 2010 Taini Jamison Trophy Series and the 2011 World Netball Championships. Bryan enjoyed extraordinary domestic success with Jamalco in the Jamaica Netball Association's Super League, helping the club win seven consecutive league titles between 2003 and 2009, and was named the league's Most Valuable Player on four occasions, including back-to-back awards in 2008 and 2009. Bryan remains Jamaica's most-capped netball international, having earned 159 caps across her international career, working as an accountant alongside her playing commitments and later mentoring the generation of Jamaican players who followed her, including her Jamalco teammate Romelda Aiken.
