One of the most clutch players in WNBA history — three-time WNBA All-Star, Olympic gold medallist with the US national team and a scoring threat of exceptional reliability whose career in Minnesota produced some of the WNBA's most memorable individual performances.
Seimone Augustus was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1984. Minnesota Lynx selected her first overall in the 2006 WNBA Draft from LSU. She won four WNBA championships with the Lynx (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017), an Olympic gold medal at Rio 2016 and was a five-time All-Star. Her clutch shooting and scoring reliability in critical moments were the defining characteristics of her game — she was the Lynx's primary perimeter weapon alongside Maya Moore across the franchise's dynasty years. She played 13 WNBA seasons and was among the most respected veteran presences in the league. She retired in 2022 as a four-time champion and one of the most beloved players in Lynx franchise history.
