The most versatile scorer in WNBA history — two-time MVP, the only player to average both 20 points and 8 rebounds per game, and a player who has competed at the highest level while managing Lyme disease throughout her career.
Elena Delle Donne was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1989. Chicago Sky selected her second overall in the 2013 WNBA Draft from Delaware, where she played after initially turning down a scholarship from UConn. She won the WNBA MVP twice (2015, 2019) and the WNBA championship with Washington in 2019. She is the only player in WNBA history to average both 20 points and 8 rebounds per game in the same season. She won the Naismith College Player of the Year at Delaware. She has played throughout her career with Lyme disease — a chronic condition that has required ongoing management and that she has spoken about publicly. She was named to the WNBA's 25th Anniversary All-Time team.
