Tage Thompson is an American forward for the Buffalo Sabres known for his combination of size, skill, and highlight-reel goals.

Tage Nathaniel Thompson was born on 30 October 1997 in Phoenix, Arizona, while his father, Brent, a former NHL defenceman, was playing for the Phoenix Coyotes, and moved frequently throughout his childhood as his father's playing and coaching career took the family across the country, attending 11 different schools before graduating from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thompson played collegiately at the University of Connecticut, leading the nation in power-play goals as a freshman, and the St. Louis Blues selected him 26th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft before trading him to the Buffalo Sabres after one season. Thompson developed dramatically into one of the league's most feared power forwards in Buffalo, using his rare combination of 6-foot-6 size and shooting ability to become an alternate captain and one of the NHL's most improved players. Thompson led the NHL in goals among American-born players during the 2024-25 season, and has continued to anchor the Sabres' offence, remaining one of the most physically imposing and productive centres in the modern game.

Thompson is a tall, skilled center who uses his 6'7" frame effectively around the net and in traffic.
