The Honourable Shericka Jackson was born on 16 July 1994 in Saint Ann, Jamaica, and developed into one of the finest sprinters of her generation, initially specialising in the 400 metres before transitioning to shorter sprints later in her career. Jackson represented Jamaica at the 2016 Rio and delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, winning medals in both the 400m and relay events, before making a remarkable switch to focus on the 100m and 200m, where she achieved her greatest individual success. Jackson won world titles in both the 100m and 200m at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, and set the second-fastest 200m time in history, 21.41 seconds, at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, finishing the year ranked the world's top 200m runner. Jackson has continued to compete at the top level of Jamaican and world sprinting, training with the MVP Track Club, and remains one of the most successful and versatile sprinters to emerge from Jamaica's storied athletics tradition.
