Russian heavyweight who rose from Fight Nights Global champion to a top UFC heavyweight contender and interim-title challenger.

Sergei Vladimirovich Pavlovich was born on 13 May 1992 in the village of Orlovsky, Rostov Oblast, Russia, and began Greco-Roman wrestling at just five years old under coach Alexander Fedorovich Aloyan, training in the discipline until his final year of school. After completing his military service, he transitioned to Combat Sambo before turning to mixed martial arts. Pavlovich, a former Russian national champion in Combat Kung Fu, turned professional in 2014 and became the Fight Nights Global heavyweight champion before signing with the UFC, where he developed into one of the most devastating punchers in the heavyweight division. Pavlovich strung together a string of dominant knockout victories, including a 17-second finish of Derrick Lewis, that established him as one of the most feared heavyweight contenders in the sport and briefly the UFC's number one ranked heavyweight, before challenging Tom Aspinall for the interim title. Pavlovich has continued competing at the top of the UFC heavyweight rankings, training out of Eagles MMA in Moscow, and remains one of the hardest-hitting fighters in the division's history, with the majority of his career victories coming by knockout.
