Sergei Pavlovich's 17-second knockout of Derrick Lewis in 2023 was not an anomaly — it was the logical extension of a UFC heavyweight career in which the majority of his victories had come by stoppage, most of them inside the first round. After completing his military service, he transitioned to Combat Sambo before turning to mixed martial arts.
