Mushfiqur Rahim is a Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter and former captain who holds several of the country's Test batting records.

Mushfiqur Rahim was born on 9 May 1987 in Bogura, Bangladesh, and trained at the Bangladesh Institute of Sports, captaining the country's Under-19 team at the 2006 World Cup alongside future international stars Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, guiding Bangladesh to the quarter-finals of that tournament. Mushfiqur made his Test debut against England in 2005 at just 18, and developed into one of Bangladesh's most experienced and respected wicketkeeper-batters, going on to captain the national team across all three formats of the international game. Mushfiqur became the first Bangladeshi to score a Test double century, and has remained a fixture of the national team's middle order for two decades, playing a crucial role in the country's ongoing development into a competitive Test-playing nation. Mushfiqur has continued to represent Bangladesh at the international level well into his late thirties, extending one of the longest and most consistent careers in the country's cricket history, and remains closely connected to his teammate and family member Mahmudullah, his brother-in-law.
