Kerri Lee Walsh was born in Santa Clara, California in 1978. She and Misty May-Treanor won three consecutive Olympic gold medals. She won a fourth Olympic medal — bronze with April Ross at Rio 2016. She played through her second Olympic cycle pregnant, having concealed a pregnancy during the 2012 London Olympics. She and May-Treanor's 108-match unbeaten streak from 2007 to 2008 is the longest in Olympic beach volleyball history. She is the most physically imposing player in women's beach volleyball — her height (6ft 3in), blocking and aggressive attacking combining to create technical dominance.
