Karrie Anne Webb was born on 21 December 1974 in Ayr, Queensland, Australia, and turned professional in 1994, developing into one of the finest players in the history of women's golf and one of just a handful to complete the career Grand Slam of all four major championships. Webb won seven major titles across her career, including the U.S. Women's Open twice and the Chevron Championship twice, and joined the LPGA Tour in 1996, winning Rookie of the Year honours after her success on the Ladies European Tour the previous season. Webb led the LPGA Tour money list three times, in 1996, 1999, and 2000, and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005, having met the tour's stringent qualification requirement of ten LPGA events across ten separate seasons.
