Joseph Thomas Logano was born on 24 May 1990 in Middletown, Connecticut, to Thomas and Deborah Logano, and began racing in Junior Stock Car Quarter Midgets at just seven years old, winning three consecutive Eastern Grand National championships before the family moved to Georgia to further his career. Logano, nicknamed "Sliced Bread" by veteran driver Randy LaJoie for his precocious talent, became the youngest winner in both NASCAR's Xfinity and Cup Series at the time of his respective victories, debuting in the Cup Series with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008 before moving to Team Penske in 2013.
