Selected 162nd overall in the sixth round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Jesper Bratt became one of the most productive value picks in recent NHL history — developing into a consistent, high-level offensive contributor for the New Jersey Devils who has significantly outperformed every expectation attached to his draft position. Bratt impressed Devils general manager Ray Shero during the 2017 Under-20 Summer Showcase in Michigan, signing an entry-level contract and making his NHL debut the following season, despite having been ranked as a lower-round prospect by most professional scouting services.
