Gabriel Landeskog is a Swedish left wing who has captained the Colorado Avalanche since 2012 and led the franchise to a Stanley Cup championship in 2022, though injuries have limited him since.

Gabriel Ingemar John Landeskog was born on 23 November 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Tony, a former Swedish Hockey League defenceman, and Cecelia, a chef and cooking instructor, and became the youngest player in Djurgårdens IF history at just 16 years and 90 days old. The Colorado Avalanche selected Landeskog second overall in the 2011 NHL Draft, and he was named the fourth captain in franchise history on 4 September 2012, becoming, at 19 years and 286 days old, the youngest captain in NHL history at the time, a record later broken by Connor McDavid. Landeskog won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022, playing through a serious knee injury during the championship run that kept him sidelined for nearly three subsequent seasons, becoming only the second Swedish-born captain to lead a team to the title. Landeskog has continued to captain the Avalanche following his recovery, representing Sweden internationally throughout his career, and remains one of the most respected leaders in the modern NHL.
