Jack Eichel

Jack Eichel is an American centre who won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 and previously starred for the Buffalo Sabres.

John Robert Eichel was born on 28 October 1996 in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and the Buffalo Sabres selected him second overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, developing into one of the league's most talented young centres of his generation. Eichel became captain of the Sabres, though a persistent neck injury led to a dispute with the organisation over his preferred surgical treatment, resulting in his eventual trade to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021 after years of frustration. Eichel won the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights in 2023, delivering some of the finest performances of his career during the championship run and cementing his standing as one of the league's premier offensive centres in the sport. Eichel has continued to represent the United States internationally, and remains one of Vegas's most important players, having overcome the injury setback that once threatened to derail his career entirely to become a Stanley Cup champion.
