Geno — three-time Stanley Cup champion and the greatest Russian forward of the modern era.
Evgeni Vladimirovich Malkin was born in Magnitogorsk, Russia in 1986. Pittsburgh Penguins selected him second overall in the 2004 NHL Draft. His career has produced 483 goals and 832 assists for 1,315 points. He won three Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh (2009, 2016, 2017). He won the Hart Trophy as MVP in 2012, the Art Ross Trophy as scoring champion three times (2009, 2012, 2018) and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2009. He won the Calder Trophy as best rookie in 2007. He scored 113 points in his 2011-12 season — one of the highest totals of the modern era. He has played his entire career alongside Sidney Crosby — forming one of the most celebrated centre pairings in hockey history. His combination of size, skating ability and offensive creativity makes him one of the three or four most complete offensive players in the modern game. He has represented Russia at multiple Olympics and World Championships. His longevity with a single franchise — spending his entire career in Pittsburgh — adds a loyalty dimension to his individual excellence.
