Tyler Christopher Herro was born on 20 January 2000 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Jen and Chris Herro, and starred at Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Wisconsin, initially committing to the University of Wisconsin before de-committing after Kentucky coach John Calipari saw him play in person and offered him a scholarship. Herro played one season at Kentucky, helping the Wildcats reach the Elite Eight, before the Miami Heat selected him 13th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. He reached the NBA Finals as a rookie, setting a rookie record for three-pointers made in a single postseason game during that 2020 playoff run. Herro won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2022, and developed into one of the league's most reliable scorers and three-point shooters, earning his first All-Star selection in 2025 and winning that year's NBA Three-Point Contest. Herro moved to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2026, returning to play professionally in his home state after seven seasons with the Miami Heat, continuing his career as one of the most dynamic offensive guards to emerge from his 2019 draft class.
