Two-time All-Star and rebounding champion — the most physical power forward of the late 1970s.
Leonard Eugene Robinson was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1951 and attended Tennessee State University. Washington Bullets selected him in the 1974 NBA Draft. His 10-season career produced 15.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game along with two All-Star appearances. He won the NBA rebounding title in 1978 with 15.7 rebounds per game — the highest average in a decade. His combination of size, strength and relentless effort on the boards made him one of the most physically imposing power forwards of the late 1970s. He averaged 22.7 points and 15.7 rebounds for the New Orleans Jazz in his finest season, earning his second All-Star selection. His nickname Truck reflected his powerful, unstoppable presence in the paint. He was one of the most productive players of the late 1970s era that is frequently overlooked in historical assessments. His rebounding average across his peak seasons would rank among the finest in any era of the sport.
