Tim Southee is a former New Zealand fast bowler and national captain who became just the third New Zealand bowler to reach 300 Test wickets.

Timothy Grant Southee was born on 11 December 1988 in Whangārei, New Zealand, and made his international debut for the national team in February 2008, developing into one of the most experienced and successful fast bowlers in New Zealand cricket history. Southee formed a long-standing new-ball partnership with fellow left-armer Trent Boult, becoming the backbone of New Zealand's pace attack for well over a decade and helping the team reach consecutive Cricket World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019. Southee captained New Zealand's Test team following the retirement of Kane Williamson from the role, before stepping down as captain in 2024 and handing the reins to Tom Latham, continuing to serve as a senior bowling presence within the squad. Southee retired from Test cricket in December 2024, and has continued to play franchise Twenty20 cricket around the world, representing Northern Districts throughout his lengthy domestic career and remaining one of New Zealand's most prolific wicket-takers across formats.
