The most decorated player in women's basketball history — four Olympic gold medals, five WNBA championships with Seattle Storm and a 21-year WNBA career that set the standard for longevity and leadership in the women's game.

Sue Bird was born in Flushing, New York in 1980. Seattle Storm selected her first overall in the 2002 WNBA Draft from UConn. She won four WNBA championships with Seattle (2004, 2010, 2018, 2020), four Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008, 2012, 2020) and was a 13-time WNBA All-Star. She played 21 WNBA seasons — the most in league history — and retired in 2022 as the league's all-time assists leader. Her basketball intelligence, floor generalship and ability to manage games in critical moments made her the most respected point guard in WNBA history. She was named to the WNBA's All-Decade and 25th Anniversary teams and inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024.
