India's most stylish and celebrated batter — ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year twice, Mandhana's elegant left-handed strokeplay and match-winning ability at the top of the order have made her the biggest star in Indian women's cricket.
Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana was born in Mumbai in 1996 and became the most celebrated India Women's batter of her generation, a left-handed opener whose elegant technique and aggressive intent made her India's most watchable women's cricketer. She plays for West Zone domestically, Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women's Premier League and Western Storm in England's women's competition. She scored over 3,700 ODI runs in 83 matches at 44.0 with 7 centuries — including India's highest individual ODI score by a woman. Her T20I record stands at 3,200+ runs in 120 matches. She was ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2018 and 2021 — the only Indian cricketer to win the award twice. She was ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2018. She was Wisden Female Cricketer of the Year in 2019. She was the youngest Indian woman to score an ODI century. She was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2018. She played a pivotal role in India reaching the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground before a crowd of 86,174 — the largest attendance at any women's cricket match in history.
