Savannah Marshall

Savannah Marshall is a British professional boxer who has held undisputed world titles at super-middleweight and a WBO title at middleweight.

Savannah Marshall was born in Hartlepool in 1991 and became the mandatory challenger to Claressa Shields in one of the most anticipated fights in women's boxing history — a rivalry stretching back to the amateur World Championship in 2012 where Marshall became the only person to defeat Shields as an amateur. Her professional record of 13 wins (10 by knockout — 77% KO rate) and 1 loss spans 2012 to present. She won the WBO Middleweight Championship in 2021. She fought Claressa Shields in London in October 2022 in a fight that sold out the O2 Arena — the first women's boxing event to headline the venue — losing by unanimous decision in a close, competitive bout that is considered the finest women's boxing fight in British history. She won Commonwealth Gold at the 2014 Games in the middleweight division. Her size — 6ft 1in at super middleweight — combined with her knockout power and technical boxing ability make her one of the most physically imposing fighters in women's boxing. She was nominated for BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2022.
