Ryan Crouser is the world's greatest shot put athlete, an American who has dominated the event by breaking the world record multiple times and winning back-to-back Olympic gold medals in Tokyo and Paris. Standing 6-foot-7 with exceptional technique, Crouser has redefined what is possible in the shot circle and is regarded as the greatest shot putter in the history of the event. Crouser won a third consecutive World Championship shot put title in Tokyo in September 2025, remarkably his only competition of the entire year after a serious elbow injury — including nerve entrapment and arthritis — restricted him to just six competitive throws all season. He has said he hopes to retire on home soil at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
