The first Swiss player and the first Nashville Predators defenceman in franchise history to win the Norris Trophy, Roman Josi claimed the award in 2020 after a decade-long ascent that made him the most decorated player his country has ever produced on ice. The Nashville Predators selected Josi 38th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft, and he helped SC Bern win the Swiss championship in 2010 before joining the Predators organisation, quickly becoming a mainstay in Nashville's lineup and defensive corps. Josi became the first Swiss player and first player in Predators franchise history to win the Norris Trophy as the league's top defenceman in 2020, and has set numerous franchise records for career points, assists, and shots along the way.
