Reggie White was a dominant defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers whose 198 career sacks rank among the highest in NFL history, capped by a Super Bowl XXXI title.

Reginald Howard White was born on 19 December 1961 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and became an ordained Baptist minister at just 17, a calling he carried throughout his football career, earning the nickname "the Minister of Defense." He played college football at Tennessee, winning SEC Player of the Year honours in 1983. White began his professional career with the USFL's Memphis Showboats before the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in a supplemental draft, and he developed into one of the most dominant defensive linemen in NFL history, leading the league in sacks in consecutive seasons. White signed with the Green Bay Packers in 1993 in one of free agency's most significant early moves, and helped the team win Super Bowl XXXI, recording three sacks in the game, before winning a second NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 1998. White retired in 2000 with 198 career sacks, ranking second in NFL history at the time, and earned a record 13 Pro Bowl selections. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, two years after his sudden death from a cardiac arrhythmia on 26 December 2004, at age 43, and was named to the NFL's 75th and 100th Anniversary All-Time Teams.
