Stylish Guyanese middle-order batsman who produced some of the finest innings ever seen from a West Indian batsman during a period of transition for Caribbean cricket.

Ramnaresh Sarwan was a stylish Guyanese right-hander who was one of West Indies' most reliable middle-order batsmen of his generation. Technically sound and elegant, he scored over 3,000 Test runs and was particularly effective against quality pace bowling. His famous on-field confrontation with Glenn McGrath during the 2003 West Indies–Australia series became one of cricket's most talked-about moments.
