Rachel Dunn was born on 14 November 1982 in Cambridge, England, and studied at the University of Bath, where she joined the Team Bath netball program in 2003. She made her England debut against South Africa in 2004 and went on to become one of the Roses' longest-serving players, winning more than 90 caps across a fifteen-year international career built around balancing elite netball with full-time work as a genetic technologist. Dunn won Commonwealth Games bronze with England in both 2006 and 2010, and added Netball World Cup bronze on three separate occasions — 2011, 2015 and 2019. Domestically she was one of the Superleague's most consistent performers from its 2005 launch onward, making more than 250 appearances across Team Bath, Surrey Storm, Wasps Netball and Cardiff Dragons and winning a record seven Superleague titles as a player, including the 2018 title with Wasps. She retired from playing in 2023 after twenty years at the top level and moved into coaching, joining new Super League franchise Birmingham Panthers in 2025 as assistant coach and head coach of their NXT Gen development side.
