French centre-back who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France and has been a key defender for Paris Saint-Germain since his youth academy days.

Presnel Kimpembe was born on 13 August 1995 in Beaumont-sur-Oise, France, to a Congolese father, Isaac, and a Haitian mother, and joined Paris Saint-Germain's academy at just seven years old, spending his entire youth career within the club's development system before making his first-team debut in 2014. Kimpembe developed into a mainstay of PSG's defence across more than a decade with the club, forming a series of centre-back partnerships as the team dominated French football, winning eight Ligue 1 titles and numerous domestic cups. His crowning club achievement came in 2020, when PSG reached their first-ever Champions League final, though the club had to wait several more years before finally lifting the trophy. Kimpembe was part of France's victorious 2018 World Cup squad, contributing to the nation's second world title, and started for France at UEFA Euro 2020, where the team reached the round of 16. He also helped France win the inaugural UEFA Nations League Finals in 2021, adding to his growing collection of international honours. Recurring long-term injuries significantly disrupted the final years of Kimpembe's time at PSG, limiting his appearances and eventually contributing to his departure for Qatari club Qatar SC in 2025, bringing to a close an 11-year first-team association with the only major European club he had ever known.
