Amandine Chantal Henry was born on 28 September 1989 in Lille, France, and progressed through local youth clubs before joining the prestigious CNFE Clairefontaine academy, a pathway that has produced many of the finest players in French football, male or female. She signed with Lyon in 2007, beginning an association with the club that would define the bulk of her playing career.
