Nelly Korda was born in Bradenton, Florida in 1998, daughter of former tennis professional Petr Korda and sister of professional golfer Jessica Korda, and became the dominant force in women's golf of the early 2020s. She turned professional in 2017 and won 2 major championships: US Women's Open (2021) and Chevron Championship (2024). She won Olympic gold at Tokyo 2021. She spent 55 weeks as world number one. In 2024 she won 6 consecutive LPGA Tour events — a record in the modern era of women's professional golf, beginning with the Chevron Championship in April. She was LPGA Player of the Year in 2021 and 2024. Her scoring average of approximately 69.8 in her peak seasons is among the lowest in LPGA Tour history. She won 13 LPGA titles overall before her 27th birthday.
