Max Emilian Verstappen was born in Hasselt, Belgium in 1997, son of former F1 driver Jos Verstappen, and became the youngest driver in Formula 1 history when he debuted for Toro Rosso in Australia 2015 aged 17 years and 166 days. He moved to Red Bull Racing in 2016 and won on his debut for the team at the Spanish Grand Prix — becoming the youngest race winner in F1 history at 18 years and 227 days. He drove for Toro Rosso (2015–2016) and Red Bull (2016–present). He won 4 consecutive World Championships in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. His 2023 season — 19 wins from 22 races — is the most dominant single season in F1 history, breaking Schumacher's record of 13 wins. He won 63 Grand Prix across 210 starts, accumulating 2,851 points. His 2021 title — decided at the final lap of the final race in Abu Dhabi in controversial circumstances — was the most dramatic championship conclusion since 2008. His racecraft, ability to manage tyres and defensive driving style drew both admiration and criticism for its aggression. His dominance has drawn comparisons with Schumacher's Ferrari era and Vettel's 2011–2013 Red Bull period. At 27 he has already won more championships than Lauda, Prost and Senna.
